LG G6 – a flagship, which launch awaits us at the MWC 2017 convention in Barcelona will be enhanced with a new technology in smartphones that will protect the battery from overheating and setting itself on fire.
LG Electronics assures that they are conducting extensive tests focused on the safety of using LG G6. Korea Herald justifies that additional safeguards are directly associated both with battery explosions from the LG’s market competition – Samsung and Apple – as well as with a special attention to the safety of smartphone users. - We will significantly improve the safety and quality of our new flagship smartphones as more consumers seek safe smartphones. - said Lee Seok-jong during the interview.

In LG G6 there will be placed a copper pipe that will drain the heat from places that are most vulnerable to overheating. Such pipes are well known as radiators placed in PCs and laptops. However, when it comes to smartphones they are a novelty. Decreasing the temperature for about 6-10% may not be an impressive result but in connection with other cooling technologies it can work efficiently.

Besides adding copper pipes the manufacturer will tighten safety tests that greatly exceed those that are currently considered as international standards. For example: the battery of the new G6 is subjected to temperature test that exceeds European and American norms for 15%. In addition the battery’s mechanical durability test to being pierced with sharp tool or to being hit with a heavy object from a height were tightened as well.
All main hardware of the smartphone: CPU, display, cameras and fingerprint scanner are subjected to mechanical and high voltage durability tests as well.

The manufacturers’ efforts of affecting the security of smartphones usage are something very positive. It is a pity though that in press materials there had to be a – deserved or not – mockery about the competition.
