Rumours about the fact that this year's iPhone may be equipped with the wireless charging have been already circulating for a long time. Recent information indicates that this adjustment may lead to a rise in the prices of these smartphones.
The KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who often publishes accurate "predictions" related to Apple informed about it. According to Ming Chi Kuo, all three versions of the iPhone this year will receive housings with a glass back, which will allow for the implementation of the wireless charging function. There is even a talk of charging remotely from a distance of several meters - but it's probably just a rumour. One thing is certain - wireless charging should be available in Apple smartphones - but unfortunately, probably it will lead to higher prices for all models of the company.
Ming Chi Kuo justifies the price increase with the complexity of the production process and the construction of the smartphone. Wireless charging causes large amounts of heat, which in turn adversely affects the phone, and in particular to aspects connected with the use of the 3D touch module. Ming Chi Kuo also draws attention to the fact that glass, which is intended to cover the back of the iPhone, removes heat less efficiently than metal - and therefore there are necessary the changes in the construction of the phone. Apple will have to use special graphite thermal insulators. Their introduction will raise the cost of producing a copy by approx. 30-50%. It may be that the price of the top model of iPhone will exceed one thousand dollars.
