At this year's CES, the ZTE company announced that it will create a smartphone designed largely by potential buyers. There was to be created an affordable " perfect phone," meeting the needs of customers.
Unfortunately, it turned out that the creation of the phone based on the expectations of buyers and the preservation of its low price is not easy. The crowdfunding collection failed, there was collected only a fraction of the amount needed. Apparently, buyers were unwilling to support the design of a large corporation, it is possible also that they felt disappointed with what ZTE proposed.
The phone ZTE Hawkeye was to have a housing adhering to a smooth surface, the interface allowing for hands-free operation and a 5.5-inch FullHD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. It was expected also to have a front camera with 8 megapixels and dual rear camera with 12 + 13 megapixels. The equipment was to cost $ 200.
Even during the collection ZTE announced that it temporarily suspends the project, and the phone will be changed and made more attractive to attract a wider group of buyers. The company waited a few weeks, but the balance of crowdfundin collection has not increased. ZTE completed, therefore the campaign, and those who supported the project, will receive a refund of amounts paid. ZTE does not abandon Hawkeye - the phone will return, in different form, using some of the solutions of the original. The company admits defeat and once again asks users to propose the changes in the device. This time, ZTE will rather finance the project alone.
