We have now finished speculating on what will happen with Samsung Galaxy Note 7's retired copies. The manufacturer has published the official information.

As least waste as possible

Samsung ensures that the withdrawn copies will be recycled in an environmentally friendly way. In the first place, there will be considered the restoration of equipment to the market - as refurbished or replacement copies. The second possibility is to dismantle and reuse as many components as possible. At the end of the day, there will still be a return of valuable raw materials - it is supposed to take place respecting environmental standards.

Not everywhere it is possible...

The return of the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 copies depends on local conditions - it may only be available in some countries. In this case, Samsung will issue separate messages.

Recover as much as possible...

A possible disassembly of the phones and the recovery of efficient components will be entrusted to specialized companies, and the acquired components will be used for example in test processes. Specialized companies will also deal with the recovery of valuable metals, such as copper, nickel, gold and silver, using environmentally friendly solutions.

Samsung also plans to work closely with EU R&D centers to develop new, efficient and environmentally responsible processing methods.
