CAT presented an interesting phone at the IFA - not a smartphone yet, but not a simple cell phone anymore. CAT B35 works in the KaiOS system, but has maintained its small size and classic form.
As for a phone from the CAT stable, B35 is above average. It loses contact with water or dust, it can also withstand a fall from a height of almost 2 meters. CAT B35 has a classic keyboard and a 2.4-inch qVGA display. The heart of the device is the Qualcomm 8905 dual-core processor, supported by 512 MB of RAM. The internal memory is admittedly only 4 GB, but the possibility of expanding it with a microSD card has been taken care of. We also have Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM radio and flashlight, there is even a leash.

CCAT B35 supports LTE, it also has Wi-Fi, so it can act as a router. There is a 2300 mAh battery, which should provide a really long time of operation, because CAT B35 does not look like a power-hungry phone ... The KaiOS system installed in it allows you to download and install new applications, but we already have Google Maps or assistant, or e-mail client or Youtube. It can therefore be said that CAT B35 fills the gap between simple "call" cells and real smartphones - giving us access to applications and some smart features, but in a classic - and to this durable and small - housing. The weakest point of construction is in my opinion a camera - it has only 2 megapixels. If not, I would venture to say that B35 could in many cases successfully replace a typical smartphone.

The phone costs 109 euros. In most European countries it should be available in the second half of September.
