The Royole company, which in 2018 became famous for the presentation of the world's first foldable smartphone, has just presented its second such model.

Royole Flexpai2 looks much better than its predecessor, which - let's be honest - resembled a prototype rather than a commercially offered device. The new model - at least in company photos - looks better and has a much more aesthetically finished hinge. However, the general outline of the device remained the same. The screen is on the outside, but does not cover the entire width of the unfolded housing. There is also a narrow strip on the side, containing, among others, camera. The back side of the casing - the one on the opposite side of the screen - is smooth, there is nothing there. The housing is flatter, but the device is heavier than its predecessor and weighs 339 g.

The new display, called Cicada Wing, together with the new hinge, forms a very durable whole. The manufacturer guarantees failure-free operation for over 1.8 million cycles, which is much more than the competitors promise. The question is whether you can believe it... Descending to Earth - the screen when unfolded has a diagonal of 7.8 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1440 pixels, and when folded, it reduces to 5.5-5.4 inches.

Then we have a two-sided smartphone with screens with resolutions of 1440 x 900 and 1440 x 810 pixels. The device is equipped with the proprietary waterOS 2.0 interface, which allows work in split screen mode between three applications. The folded edge of the screen when the device is folded was used to add a shortcut edge panel.

In the middle of the housing we find a Snapdragon 865 processor with a 5G modem, supported by LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 memory, offered in 8+256 and 12+512 GB variants. The power supply is provided by a 4450 mAh battery with a fast 18 W charging. Due to its construction, the phone only received one camera. It has a main matrix of 64 Mpx, a wide-angle module of 16 Mpx, 118 degrees and a 32-megapixel portrait camera. An 8-megapixel telephoto module has also been added, providing 3x lossless zoom, 5x hybrid and 30x digital. The equipment is completed with stereo speakers. The device can be purchased in three colour variants - Sunrise Gold, Cosmic Gray and Midnight Black. The prices are 9,988 and 11,588 yuan, or $ 1,470-1710. A cover and stereo headphones are added to the phone.
