OnePlus today unveiled the new OnePlus 8T flagship model. Does it have the makings of a market hit? Let's see...
OnePlus 8T does not captivate with its styling originality, but it can be considered nice. We have two colours to choose from, grey and green. The phone is quite slim and has a 6.55-inch flat AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Of course, this frequency can be automatically adjusted and periodically lowered to save energy. And this is provided by a 4500 mAh battery with fast charging with a power of 65 W.
The fingerprint reader went under the screen, and when looking even deeper inside the 8 mm thick housing, we encounter the Snapdragon 865 processor, 8 or 12 GB LPDDR4x of RAM and 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 flash memory. Of course, there is a dedicated mode for players, but traditionally there is no microSD card slot.
The 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 (f/2.4) selfie camera is mounted in a screen hole, while the rear camera is integrated into an unimaginative, rectangular and protruding frame. The camera has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 matrix (f/1.7), an 16-megapixel wide-angle module (f/2.2, 123 degrees) and 5 and 2 Mpx eyelets for macro and background blurring. OnePlus 8T also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC and a place for two SIM cards. However, there is no minijack. Importantly, OnePlus 8T works with Android 11 from the very beginning.
OnePlus 8T will be offered in Europe for 599 or 699 euro, respectively for variants with 8+128 or 12+256 GB memory. Only the more powerful version will be available in the US for $ 749.
In addition, OnePlus presented a new colour version of the already known OnePlus Nord model. It's called Gray Ash, it's grey and matte - which is quite practical. OnePlus Nord in this colour will only be offered in the 12+256 GB version at a price of 499 euro.
