Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro officially presented

Huawei today presented new models from the Nova 8 family in China. Are the rumours confirmed? What do the premiere models offer and what will their prices be?

The new Huawei Nova 8 models stand out thanks to the remarkably styled rear camera frame. It is oval, with the main lens strongly emphasized. At the front - the new Novas are now more ordinary - they have displays with holes for selfie cameras.

Huawei Nova 8 - the basic model from the series - has an OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a diagonal of 6.57 inches, with a single hole (half the width of the upper edge) for a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The heart of the smartphone is the Kirin 985 processor, supported by 8 GB of RAM. The internal memory is available in two versions: 128 or 256 GB. Huawei Nova 8 is powered by a 3800 mAh battery with a fast 66 W charge. The rear camera has a main matrix of 64 Mpx with f/1.9 lens and an 8 Mpx wide-angle module with f/2.4 aperture. The set is completed with macro and background blur cameras - both 2-megapixel, with f/2.4 aperture. The phone works under the control of Android 10 with the EMUI 11 overlay.

Huawei Nova 8 Pro

The more powerful and expensive variant, Huawei Nova 8 Pro, does not differ drastically from the base model. It has the same main camera and interior - processor or memory versions. The Pro version, however, has a different selfie camera. This time it is double, in a binocular hole in the corner of the screen. It is made of 32 and 16 Mpx matrices, with apertures - respectively - f/2.4 and f/2.0. The additional camera is responsible for the wide-angle selfie. In the rear camera - only the aperture value changes - to f/1.8. Huawei Nova 8 Pro also has a different display. The screen has folded edges, a diagonal of 6.72 inches and a resolution of 2676x1236 pixels and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz. Smartphones also differ in batteries. The Pro model has a 4,000mAh battery - but still with 66W charging via the USB-C port.
