Samsung today presented the Galaxy S21 smartphone family. It consists of the following models: Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. How do they differ and what connects them?
Attractive styling
Models from the Galaxy S21 family received a fresh and attractive styling this year. Smartphones no longer scare with the dark, protruding islands with cameras. In Galaxy S21, the camera frame blends seamlessly with the metal frame of the casing, embracing the lenses with a gentle, eye-catching line. It is true that in the Ultra model the frame is quite large - nevertheless, it looks much better than in the models from last year. The front has not changed significantly - we still have a screen with a narrow bezel and a camera hole in the middle of the top edge. It is worth looking at the new colours in which the Galaxy S21 smartphones will be offered. The main character of promotional materials - for good reason - will be the purple and gold version. Smartphones have casings covered on both sides with Gorilla Glass Victus glass. The only exception is the base model Galaxy S21, the back of which is covered with Glasstic material.

Shared genes
Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra will have the same heart. In the case of European models, we are talking about the Samsung Exynos 2100 processor, which - according to the manufacturer's assurances - is as powerful as the competing Qualcomm chip. This one can be found in the S21 series models offered in other regions of the world - in Asia or the USA. All Galaxy S variants will use LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory. Unfortunately, the information about the lack of a memory card slot, as well as the depletion of sales sets with chargers and headphones is confirmed. As a consolation - we will get systems for quick battery charging. With a wired power supply, it will be 25 W, and wireless - 15 W. Of course, there will be inductive reverse charging. All models have waterproof housings (IP68) as well as AKG signature stereo speakers.
Samsung Galaxy S21
Samsung Galaxy S21 is the smallest of the premiere trio. It received a flat Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with Full HD+ resolution, with a dynamically selected image refresh rate - from 48 to 120 Hz. The screen is characterized by a brightness of up to 1,300 nits and a contrast of 2,000,000: 1, as well as a density ratio of 421 ppi.

This model uses the well-known 10-megapixel camera (f/2.2) for selfies, as well as a triple rear camera. It has a main 12 Mpx f/1.8 OIS matrix and a wide-angle module with the same resolution (f/2.2, 120 degrees). They are accompanied by a 64-megapixel module with an f/2.0 telephoto lens with three times lossless zoom - with OIS Optical Image Stabilization. This model powers a 4000 mAh battery. The base model of the series is distinguished by the richest range of housing colours: black, white, pink and purple.
Samsung Galaxy S21+
The Samsung Galaxy S21+ variant is very similar to the base model - it differs only in size. It has a 6.7-inch screen, which translated into a pixel density factor of 394 ppi. Inevitably, the larger model also uses a larger battery - with a capacity of 4800 mAh. The rest of the specification is common to Galaxy S21.
Buyers of this model will have a choice of black, white or purple housing colours. They will also be able to use Ultra Wide Band (UWB) connectivity. Similar to Galaxy S21 described above, the Galaxy S21+ model has 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB flash memory.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the largest and best-equipped model from the entire premiere family. It has a 6.8-inch display - and at the same time with a higher resolution than in the models described earlier. The screen has 3200x1440 pixels, or WQHD+, which gives a density of 515 ppi. An interesting fact is that the screen of this smartphone has been adapted to work with the S Pen stylus. The stylus - offered separately - is different than in the Galaxy Note series models. It is passive and only allows you to sketch. It does not offer additional gestures - but there are plans for a more extensive version of this accessory - with Bluetooth LE. However, it will not appear until summer. The stylus can be stored near the phone by using the optional cover. In addition, the range of dynamically selected refresh rate is also different, here from 10 to 120 Hz. The smartphone also has the largest battery in the entire family - 5000 mAh. In the Galaxy S21 Ultra we will encounter 12 or 16 GB of RAM and internal 128, 256 or 512 GB.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra model could not miss the best cameras in the entire range. The selfie camera has 40 megapixels and f/2.2 aperture, and a fourth additional lens appears on the back. The main rear camera module has 108 megapixels, Optical OIS stabilization and f/1.8 aperture, while the wide-angle - invariably 12 Mpx. The set is completed by two 10-megapixel modules with telephoto lenses. The first one, the classic one, gives a 3x approximation (f/2.4 with OIS), while the second one, with a periscope structure, gives a lossless zoom as much as 10x - with an aperture of f/4.9 and OIS Optical Image Stabilization. In total - the cameras achieve digital zoom of 100X - but the manufacturer ensures that it offers better quality than the solution from last year. Galaxy S21 Ultra will be offered in black or white.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro
Samsung today also unveiled a new generation of earphones, or "buds". Galaxy Buds Pro are equipped with separate midrange and woofers as well as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Noise reduction mode can automatically turn off when it detects a human voice - allowing you to hold a conversation without removing the headphones or pausing the music. There was also a surround sound mode, and the premiere headphones are waterproof and have a new, no longer bean-shaped shape. They will be offered in colours matching the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones.
