Xiaomi today presented several new models from the flagship Mi 11 family, as well as a new edition of the hit Mi Band.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
The star of the launch was Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which - according to the manufacturer - could revolutionize photography and filming on smartphones. Xiaomi boasted that this model is at the forefront of the DxO Mark website, which compares the quality of mobile cameras. Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a 6.81-inch AMOLED display, refreshed at 120 Hz, with WQHD+ resolution. The screen glass is curved on four sides and additional contrast is achieved thanks to the new E4 material reflective layer. The display gives 1700 nits of peak brightness and can reproduce 1.07 billion colors. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Mi 11 Ultra has an additional display on the back. It shows the most important information (date, time, notifications) and can also be used as a selfie mirror.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 888. RAM type is LPDDR5, data memory conforms to UFS 3.1 specification. The new Xiaomi three-phase cooling makes its debut in the Ultra model. Traditional CPU thermal paste has been changed to a phase change material, which can boast higher performance. The 5000mAh battery charges in 36 minutes, there is practically no difference between wired and wireless charging. Mi 11 Ultra can be charged with a current of 67 W.
The device's 50MP main camera uses the largest smartphone camera sensor on the market today, Samsung's GN2. This sensor jointly developed by Xiaomi and Samsung is the first to reach a size of 1/1.12 inches and have a pixel size of 2.8 micrometers. Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a 48MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, also capable of 10x hybrid zoom and 120x digital zoom. The 48 Mpx wide-angle camera uses the Sony IMX586 sensor and allows you to capture a 128-degree viewing angle. The optics are supported by AI algorithms that eliminate errors, aberrations and image imperfections. All three cameras of the phone support 8K 24 fps video, and the main camera supports Staggered-HDR providing dynamic reproduction of light and shadow. Mi 11 Ultra has a ceramic back cover, resistant to dust and water (IP68). The prices for the 8+256, 12+256 and 12+512 GB versions are expected to be 5,999, 6,499 and 6,999 yuan, respectively. Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro
Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro was introduced as the "King of Androids". Why? It has the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory, and an AMOLED E4 display from Samsung, with a resolution of 2K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone powers a 5000 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging - both wired and inductive. However, the charger will have to be purchased separately. Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro has an IP68 tightness certificate and a 50-megapixel camera with a 1/1.12 inch Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor. The next camera is wide-angle (13 Mpx, 123 degrees), while the third one - 8 Mpx - has a periscope telephoto lens, optical stabilization and 5x lossless zoom and 50x digital zoom. There are 8+128, 8+256 and 12+256 GB versions to choose from, offered at prices respectively 4,999, 5,299 and 5,699 yuan, i.e. 762, 808 and 868 USD. The Pro model will not be offered in Europe. Instead, we get Mi 11i, which we describe below.
Xiaomi Mi 11i
Xiaomi Mi 11i is the budget version of the Chinese brand's flagship. The smartphone received a Snapdragon 888 processor, LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory and a 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED flat display. The screen has a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits, FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 360 Hz. The audio system consists of two speakers and the Dolby Atmos system that controls them. We also have an infrared transmitter and NFC on board. The photographic set consists of a main 108 Mpx camera, an 8 Mpx 119 degrees wide-angle camera and a 5 Mpx macro camera with the focal length equivalent of 50 mm. The phone uses LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory. RAM is 8 GB, and the internal one - 128 or 256 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is a model with a 6.55-inch AMOLED DotDisplay with support for the 10-bit TrueColor standard, displaying 1.07 billion colors, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. This is the first smartphone in the series with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset. The LiquidCool system is responsible for cooling the systems. The battery has a capacity of 4250 mAh and can be quickly charged using the included 33 W charger. Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has a triple rear camera - with 64, 8 and 5 Mpx matrices and a 16 Mpx selfie camera. The equipment is completed with dual speakers and Hi-Res Audio certification. Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite will be offered with 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 64 or 128 GB internal memory.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is similar to Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. It has the same display, battery or rear camera. The front camera, however, was changed to a 20-megapixel one. The most important change, however, is a different processor - Mi 11 Lite 5G is the world's first device with Snapdragon 780G 5G. Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G will be offered with 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory. The prices of the Lite models have not been announced yet.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6
The latest version of the popular band has a readable 1.56-inch AMOLED touch display. The screen is 326 pixels per inch and about 50% more space for information than its predecessor. The Mi Smart Band 6 has twice as many fitness modes as its predecessor, as well as 30 engaging training types. The device automatically detects six popular activities, even if you do not turn on the training mode, it records their statistics and includes them in the activity log. Mi Smart Band 6 measures blood oxygenation3, accurately monitors heart rate, tracks sleep and naps, cycles including REM and breathing quality. The product is also equipped with a stress monitoring function. If we need it, Mi Smart Band will help us relax by helping with breathing exercises. The Mi Smart Band 6 provides 14 days of uninterrupted battery life and has a handy magnetic port for quickly attaching and detaching the charger. It is certified to 5 ATM water resistance, which means it can be worn while diving. The device is supplied with stripes in six colours to choose from. The band will also be offered in a version with NFC. Prices will be 229 and 279 yuan (for the NFC model), or $ 36-44.
