Motorola Defy - the hard fruit of cooperation with Bullitt

Motorola today announced the availability of the unique Motorola Defy medium-range phone with increased durability, built in cooperation with the Bullitt Group - known for its armored models with the CAT, JCB and Land Rover logos.

What makes this model unique? It is one of the few - and possibly the cheapest - high-endurance smartphones on the market. The device is addressed to a rather narrow - but decisive group of recipients. We’re talking about users leading an active lifestyle, working in the field or in a dusty or humid environment. The manufacturer has prepared Defy for every eventuality. A unique, two-layer casing was used, the task of which is to protect the inside of the phone against mechanical damage. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus with a thickness of 0.7 mm. The phone was tested for drop, impact, heat and cold, thermal shock and vibration. It has been checked that it will not be harmed by salt fog, water, moisture and even popular disinfectants. The phone has also been made resistant to scratches. Of course, the device meets the requirements of MIL-STD810H and IP68 certification. The interestingly styled corner of the housing is also an eyelet for a mounting lanyard that will be delivered with the phone.

What does Motorola Defy 2021 offer? The smartphone has a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution, with a small droplet notch for a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, there is a triple camera with a main matrix of 48 megapixels (f/1.84) and two 2-megapixel cameras for macro and background blurring. The heart of Motorola Defy 2021 model is the Snapdragon 662 processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal memory. The addition of a microSD card slot, fingerprint reader or NFC has not been forgotten. There will also be a DualSIM variant.

All this is powered by a 5000 mAh battery - with a fast 20W charge. As a system - Android 10 (with some update to 11) with a functional My UX interface, combining the simplicity of pure Android with functional Motorola extras, including the already iconic gestures to turn on flashlight or camera. The manufacturer provides support for this model for at least 3 years - so it is also a device dedicated to business use - as part of Android Enterprise. Motorola Defy 2021 will cost £ 279 or € 329 and will be offered in two color options: Black and Green/Black.

Finally, it is worth recalling that the model presented today is a return to the old Motorola name with higher strength. We remember the models Motorola Defy, Motorola Defy Mini, Motorola Defy Pro czy Motorola Defy+. The last model called Defy appeared in 2012 - and probably for this reason the manufacturer refreshed the name without adding any distinguishing features.
