This has not happened yet. The Doogee company presented a smartphone with a built-in laser rangefinder. This is Doogee S97 Pro!
Technically, Doogee S97 Pro is a typical representative of its genre. The reinforced housing, meeting the requirements of MIL-STD-810G, IP68 and IP69K certificates, houses a large battery and medium-shelf components. Among them we find a 6.39-inch display with HD+ resolution, covered with Gorilla Glass of undefined generation. We will also see the MediaTek Helio G95 processor, supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal memory, which can be enlarged with a microSD card.
A 16-megapixel Samsung S5K3P3 camera with f/2.0 aperture is responsible for the selfie, while on the back of the housing we have a 48-megapixel Samsung S5KGM1SP03-FGX9 main camera with f/1.8 aperture. Wide-angle photos with a field of view of 130 degrees are taken by an 8-megapixel Samsung S5K4H7 camera with an f/2.2 aperture, while two 2-megapixel cameras with f/2.8 apertures take macro photos and background effects. Doogee S97 Pro has Android 11 with GMS as well as an NFC module, Dual SIM and a side fingerprint reader. The 8500 mAh battery with 33 W quick charge is responsible for the power supply.

Of course, additional "building" elements of equipment are very important. One of them is an air purity sensor that detects dangerous chemical contamination with formaldehyde. A practical accessory may also be a laser rangefinder, which can not only replace a traditional, pull-out ruler - but also can measure the area or cubature of rooms. The sensor has a range of 40 meters and an accuracy of +/-3 mm - as the manufacturer assures. The phone costs $ 400.
