Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K40S officially presented

As announced, Xiaomi has treated us today with another three smartphones. These are Redmi K40S, Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro after the official launch!

Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro are closely related models, sharing a significant part of the specifications. The new models also have a consistent styling - basically indistinguishable at first glance. Both have 6.7-inch AMOLED displays with QHD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass Victus glass and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In both screens we will also see holes for identical selfie cameras, 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 units. In both smartphones we also find 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC modules and the Android 12 operating system with MIUI 13 interface, as well as LPDDR 5 and UFS 3.1 memory. Smartphones are available in green, silver and blue, and in a black version with shimmering microcrystals.

Redmi K50 has a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor and a 5500 mAh battery with 67 W charging. The role of the main camera is played by a 48 Mpx Sony IMX 582 matrix with OIS Optical Image Stabilization. This camera is supported by: an 8-megapixel wide-angle module and a 2-megapixel macro eyelet.

In Redmi K50 Pro we find a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor and a 5000 mAh battery - smaller, but with faster charging of 120 W. It is supposed to fill the battery in 19 minutes. This model is also equipped with a different camera - using a 108-megapixel Samsung matrix with a size of 1/1.52". Here is the price list of new smartphones:

  • Redmi K50 Pro 12+512 GB - 3999 RMB, 630 USD

The third of the models presented today, Redmi K40S is a cheaper alternative to the "Fifty". It has a Snapdragon 870 processor supported by LPDDR 5 and UFS 3.1 memories and a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED E4 display, with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz image refresh rate. This model is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with a fast 67 W charge, while the selfie is provided by a 20-megapixel front camera. The rear camera creates a main matrix of 48 Mpx with OIS Optical Image Stabilization, supported by an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and 2 Mpx for macro. In the case of this model, you can choose from as many as four memory selections:

  • Redmi K40S 8+256 GB - 2199 RMB, 347 USD
