It is true that it isn’t a smartphone - but it is impossible not to mention the end of the production of the device, without which Apple probably wouldn’t be what it is, and the development of streaming could be less dynamic... Apple ends the production of iPods!
The iPod is a legend. Although it offered only some of the functions of current smartphones - who knows what the history of Apple would turn out to be and what would the devices we use today look like? The statement that the iPod, presented over 20 years ago, saved Apple, will probably not be too exaggerated. And even if without an iPod, Apple would have survived to this day - it might not be as powerful as it is. It is very possible that the MP3 revolution, eliminating the physical media of music, would not have happened so quickly either. It could be the same with control services. While Apple is unlikely to be a pioneer, the existence of iTunes has certainly helped in the development of streaming services. After all, nothing stimulates development like competition...

Now, Apple announces that it is finalizing the production of the last of the iPods, the iPod Touch. The equipment will be available as long as there are enough copies left in the warehouse. Fans will certainly go shopping, but more out of sentiment than real need. Today (and actually, for a good 10-15 years!), we no longer need an iPod. The same functions can be found in the iPhone, which offers much more. Even if we don't want an iPhone, but just a music player - any smartphone is enough, right? Using a separate music player (unless it is a fancy, almost audiophile model) doesn’t make sense now, although I must admit that I miss the tiny, simple, but durable iPod shuffle. And you - do you regret the disappearance of the iPod? Which model was your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
