Today is a big day for Apple fans. The company showed four new smartphones: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Along with iPhones, the next generation of the Apple Watch also debuted.
Apple has decided to make a slight "revolution" this year. A new name appears - iPhone 14 Plus (which better reflects the essence of the device) - and in the Pro variants we see a new styling of the display. The nightmarish, wide notch has been replaced by two holes that are "programmatically" masked and visually joined to form "pills" by darkening the screen between them. Moreover, the background around the holes will be animated - it will show notifications - it was called Dynamic Island. The rest of the visual side remained unchanged, although some elements (e.g. lenses) slightly changed their position. Yes, so far, the entire iPhone series this year can be divided in pairs - either in terms of size or equipment.

The base model of the iPhone 14 is equipped with an Apple A15 Bionic processor and (as we presume) 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Apple only gives the capacity of the internal memory - from 128, through 256, and 512 GB. The iPhone 14 also has a screen with a diagonal of 6.1 inches and a resolution of 2532x1170 pixels. The battery capacity can only be guessed again - reportedly it is 3279 mAh. We know, however, that the base iPhone has 12 megapixel cameras - the second one takes wide-angle photos. The equipment also includes an advanced Face ID system, as well as a selfie camera. The smartphone measures 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.65 mm and weighs 173 g.
The higher-positioned iPhone 14 Plus has the same processor or cameras, but a larger display: 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2778x1284 pixels. Naturally, it also has larger dimensions (160.71 x 78.58 x 7.85 mm) and weight (245 g). It certainly has a larger battery as well, but here again we are left with unofficial leaks, talking about a capacity of 4325 mAh. Of course, both models support eSIM, but in selected markets (e.g. in the USA) they do not have a slot for a physical SIM card at all.

The Pro models, as I have already mentioned, differ in appearance from the basic versions described above. There is no notch in the front, and triple cameras at the back. They are 48-megapixel, and the additional, third module has a telephoto lens. iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are equipped with new Apple A16 processors and internal memory in versions 128, 256 and 512 GB and 1 TB. We have to guess the RAM capacity again, but it is probably 6 GB. Likewise, we can only speculate on the battery capacity - it is possible that they are 3200 mAh in the Pro model and 4323 mAh in the Pro Max variant. iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen with a resolution of 2532x1170 pixels and dimensions of 146.7x71.5x7.65 mm and a weight of 215 g, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen, and its dimensions and weight are 160, 71x78.58x7.85 mm and 255 g. In both Pro models the displays work with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. All iPhones, as well as new watches, offer the possibility of using satellite communication (out of cellular communication range) in case of an emergency. This service will be available in the US and Canada for 2 years after device purchase, free of charge. Then - it will probably become payable.

Watches are offered in an aluminum or steel case - in the first case there are four colors to choose from, in the second - three. In terms of the ability to monitor activity, not much has changed. The option to measure body temperature and the "women package" have been added. Prices for watches start at $ 399 or $ 499 (for a cellular model). The "budget" Apple Watch SE 2 was also presented, with a new, faster S8 SiP processor and car accident detection. Prices for this model start at $ 249 or $ 299 (the more expensive model has a cellular modem).

There was also the Apple Watch Ultra - a model with a slightly more sporty design, with a larger, 47-millimeter screen. The Apple Watch Ultra has a titanium case and flat sapphire crystal on the front. The side of the case with a crown has been redesigned in this watch to add a programmable key next to it. With it, you can, for example, quickly start a training tracker. The watch also has a larger battery than the other models. it is sufficient for a maximum of 36 hours of normal operation. A new low-energy mode is being tested for several-day trips, extending this time to up to 60 hours. The screen of the watch reaches a brightness of up to 2,000 nits, which is twice the brightness of any previous Apple Watch models. The Apple Watch Ultra performs well under water as it has been awarded the WR100 waterproof rating. The Apple Watch Ultra has also received EN 13319 certification. This global standard for the quality of diving accessories The range has also been joined by the AirPods Pro 2 headphones with the new H2 processor and support for the LC3 codec, which is to ensure higher sound quality.
