Honor has introduced a model that it promotes as a slim smartphone with a large battery. Here's the Honor X40 in a 7.9mm thick housing.
Honor X40 cannot be denied slenderness, although I know slimmer models - let's mention Oppo R7, Allview V1 Viper or record-breaking models Gionee Elife S7 or Gionee Elife S5.5, which was 5.55mm thick in 2014. The new Honor is therefore not the slimmest smartphone, but considering it has a 5100mAh battery (with 40W charging), the 7.9mm thickness can be considered quite good. It is impossible to clearly assess the styling of this smartphone. On the one hand, the rear camera frame is interesting and original - on the other - it disappoints when you look at the cameras it hides.

In a huge circle, suggesting incredible photographic possibilities, only two (or actually - one) lenses were placed. The main one has an f/1.8 aperture and works with a 50 megapixel matrix, while the additional (f/2.4) has a 2-megapixel eyelet for blurring the background. The front camera is also not impressive - it has an 8 Mpx matrix and f/2.0 aperture. This camera is mounted in a hole made in a 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The heart of the new Honor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, supported by 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. All this works under the control of the Android 12 operating system with the Magic UI 6.1 interface. The price list and the range of memory versions are as follows:
- 6+128 GB - 1499 yuan, $ 215
- 8+128 GB - 1699 yuan, $ 245
- 8+256 GB - 1999 yuan, $ 285
- 12+256 GB - 2299 yuan, $ 330
