Photo legend - Leica - in collaboration with Sharpe has prepared another smartphone under its own name: Leica Leitz Phone 2. Of course, again with a large, inch photo matrix.
Leica Leitz Phone 2 - because that's what we're talking about - is a direct continuation of the previous model, i.e. Leica Leitz Phone 1. It has an almost unchanged, though slightly more expressive, style. The main violin is of course played by a large, round camera holder, which can be covered with a dedicated, stylish caseback, of course with the Leica logo. The whole thing looks a bit more interesting than its predecessor, mainly due to the white colour and the elegant, silvery metal frame of the casing.

A huge photo frame hides a 1-inch matrix with a resolution of 47.2 Mpx, cooperating with a lens with an f/1.9 aperture. The manufacturer, unfortunately, did not specify the matrix type, just as did not disclose the parameters of the additional camera, which we also see in the round frame. We can therefore presume that it is simply a background blur. It was stated that the selfie camera has a 12.6 Mpx matrix and f/2.3 aperture. This saving in providing smartphone matrix data - after all - photographic seems to suggest that in the case of Leitz Phone 2 it is mainly about style and logo. I remember the times when Panasonic compact cameras were offered with the Leica logo (not bad by the way), but with a changed style, imitating the legendary 35mm cameras, and with an adequately higher price.

The rest of the Leica Leitz Phone 2 specification is of course flagship. We have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal memory with a capacity of 512 GB, which can be expanded with a microSD card. The 6.6-inch IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 1260 x 2730 px and a refresh rate of 240 Hz - also looks great, especially against the background of a rather typical 5000 mAh battery. All this is closed in an IP68 housing and unfortunately only available in Japan. The base for this model is probably Sharp Aquos R7 which has similar hardware but less flash memory.
