In the spring Apple's self-repair program launched, but it was only available to US customers. Now you can also do your own repairs in several European countries!
The group of countries where self-repair of selected faults in selected Apple devices is possible, apart from the USA, includes Poland, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, UK and Italy! The Self Service Repair Store offers over 200 different parts and tools, as well as repair manuals. You can repair iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 and Macs with an Apple chip on your own. The offer is addressed to customers "knowledgeable in the repair of electronic devices".
Fortunately, you do not need to have your own electronics repair tools - Apple will lend them to us. The professional tools available in Self Service Repair include: screwdrivers, specialized cuvettes and presses for screens and batteries. What's more, Apple ensures that the parts offered are the same - and have the same price - as those used by Apple Authorized Service Centers. For those who want to take advantage of the offer of self-repair of devices with apple, a special website has been launched. We can replace not only the screen or the battery, but also, for example, the camera module or the speaker or the vibration mechanism. To make it even more interesting, we don't have to rent tools - we can buy them ourselves, from a glue cutter to a heater for gluing the housing. A large part of the replacement elements costs - in my opinion - quite reasonable money, as for the original element. I guess it remains to applaud and wait for other manufacturers to implement similar programmes in Europe...
