Recently, Tecno Phantom X2 appeared in the leaks, enjoying the Dimensity 9000 processor and surprising appearance. Now the manufacturer has officially presented the new series, including Tecno Phantom X2 Pro, which will offer even more.

Like the standard Phantom X2, the Phantom X2 Pro has a Dimensity 9000 processor - one of the best Mediateka processors and a huge step up from the Helio G95 processor in the first smartphone Phantom X. Both models also have 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage and LPDDR5X RAM - 8GB in the standard model, 12GB in the Pro version.

The two models also have a screen in common - a 6.8-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. So it's better than the first Phantom in many ways. The battery is no different - this time it has a capacity of 5160 mAh, with 45 W fast charging.

The main difference between the Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro smartphones is their shooting capabilities. This is where the unique element of the X2 Pro comes into play - a retractable 65mm portrait lens that can also be used as a telephoto lens with a 2.5x optical zoom. This camera has 50 Mpx and an extremely wide aperture for a telephoto lens - f/1.5. Thanks to this, it collects more light, and in portraits it naturally blurs the background without the help of digital effects.

In the new African flagship, of course, there was a more traditional main lens. This role is fulfilled by the 50 Mpx 1/1.3" ISOCELL 3.0 matrix. Night photos taken with this lens should not disappoint - it is ensured by an exceptionally large lens in combination with technological innovations presented for the first time in the Tecno Camon 19 model, which is an RGBW sensor and a glass instead of plastic lens, which increase light capture by 60% and 30% respectively, there is also a 13 Mpx wide-angle camera with autofocus, thanks to which it will also serve as a camera for macro.

The Phantom X2 does not have a retractable telephoto lens, but in terms of the main and wide-angle camera it is not inferior to its relative. Both models also have a 32 Mpx selfie camera - the same as Tecno Camon 19. To keep the bezel clean, the standard Phantom X2 replaces the 50-megapixel portrait lens with a 2-megapixel digital bokeh sensor - it's always something.

The standard Phantom X2 is available in Moonlight Silver and Stardust Gray, while the Phantom X2 Pro comes in Stardust Gray and Mars Orange. The latter is also more environmentally friendly - its back cover is made of recycled plastic. How much will it help the environment if the other three models are not? It's hard to say, but at least it's a less inconvenient option for buyers than the now fashionable way to get rid of chargers from the set.

The Tecno Phantom X2 series will hit local stores in the coming weeks. For now, the price in Saudi Riyals is known - 2700 SAR for the Phantom X2, 3500 SAR for the Phantom X2 Pro.
