The Indian branch of POCO today introduced POCO C55. It is a cheap smartphone based on the already known Redmi 12C, but enclosed in a more attractive housing.
For a budget smartphone, the new POCO C55 looks quite attractive. It received a matte back with stitching and imitation leather, as well as original colours. The back is decorated with a large camera frame with an equally large logotype. This element evokes mixed feelings - but it certainly distinguishes the smartphone from the crowd. From the technical side - we get what we already know from Redmi 12C. POCO C55 therefore has a 6.71-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and a standard 60 Hz refresh rate, with a cutout for a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The frame of the rear camera suggests solid photographic capabilities, but the facts are different: we only have a main 50 megapixel (f /1.8) sensor and a 2-megapixel background blurr.

The heart of POCO C55 is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor supported by LPDDR4x and eMMC 5.1 memories, while the entire device is powered by a 5000 mAh battery, unfortunately with only 10-watt charging. The smartphone also includes: a classic fingerprint reader, a minijack, 5 GB of virtual RAM or a slot for a microSD memory card. The housing offers protection against moisture at the IP52 level. The price of a smartphone with 4+64 GB memories is 9499 rupees, or $ 115. The 6+128 GB model is priced at 10,999 rupees, which is $ 133. At the start, the phone is offered 1,000 rupees cheaper - that's $12 less.
