MWC23: Tecno presents the foldable Phantom V Fold!

Tecno Phantom V Fold is presented at the company's stand at MWC23. If the name Tecno doesn't mean much to you - I won't be surprised. This manufacturer is popular only in some Asian or African markets, but it is possible that soon we will see Tecno smartphones in European markets. Contrary to appearances, this is not a small, exotic producer. Together with Itel and the already known Infinix, Tecno is part of the Transsion Holdings concern and - as the latest models show - Tecno is able to create interesting smartphone. Phantom X2 Pro with an innovative camera was also present at the fair stand, but Tecno Phantom V Fold stole all the attention! What is this equipment?

Tecno Phantom V Fold is a classic "fold", i.e. a smartphone that folds along the long side. In terms of construction and design, the equipment looks quite typical, although it is distinguished from its competitors by a powerful camera frame. This frame houses a fairly decent set of cameras. We have two 50-megapixel modules (main and tele), as well as a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera. The photo set is complemented by selfie cameras: 32-megapixel on the outside and 16-megapixel on the inside, in the cutout of the flexible screen. The heart of Tecno Phantom V Fold is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor, built in 4nm technology and supported by 12 GB of LPDDR5x memory and 256 or 512 GB of UFS internal memory 3.1. The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 45-watt charging. The external display has a diagonal of 6.42 inches and Full HD+ resolution, while the internal, flexible - 7.85 inches and 2K+ resolution. Both screens are made in AMOLED technology with LTPO, with refresh adjustment in the range of 10-120 Hz. The role of the operating system is Android 13 with the HiOS13 Fold interface - i.e. adapted to a folded smartphone. The system includes several add-ons that use the potential of the fold-up - e.g. options related to working on a split screen. The folded smartphone has dimensions of 159.4 x 72 x 14.5 mm, and when unfolded they are 159.4 x 140.4 x 6.8 mm. The Tecno Phantom V Fold will go on sale first in India, it will be offered in 12+256 and 12+512 GB variants at the price of 90 or 100 thousand rupees. After conversion, it is USD 1090-1210.
