Honor has expanded the offer with budget, but quite sensibly configured models Honor Play7T and Honor Play7T Pro. Smartphones are cheap, but compromises can be seen in good places...

When creating a cheap smartphone, the manufacturer has a fairly limited room for maneuver. It is known that savings are necessary - but it is worth to place them in the least annoying places for the user. It seems that Honor Play7T and Honor Play7T Pro managed to combine low cost of production with user comfort.

Honor Play7T

The weakest point of the model specification Honor Play7T seems to be the LCD screen, working in HD+ resolution with a diagonal of 6.74 inches. Pixels will be conspicuous, but fortunately the image will please you with smoothness thanks to the 90 Hz refresh rate. The MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor looks quite decent, and the proposed memory versions - even better, because there are 8+128 and 8+256 GB sets to choose from. The manufacturer saved a little more on the 5-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2), but already installed a quite sensible 50 Mpx camera with f/1.8 aperture on the back, adding a background blurr. Savings were told to stop when designing the battery - it has a capacity of up to 6000 mAh and charges with a power of 22.5 W, weak but acceptable in a cheap smartphone. All this is packed into a good-looking plastic housing, available in three colors. As for the prices: in China they are 1099 and 1299 yuan, or 160-190 USD.

Honor Play7T Pro

Honor Play7T Pro retains many features of the base model, but has a completely different styling. It's hard to say why. The design of the back has changed, but also the front, where a much better display was used, already with Full HD+ resolution. The screen has a more attractive, narrow frame and a hole for the selfie camera instead of a notch. The camera itself is also a little better, because it is 8-megapixel. The rear camera has not been changed, but the battery capacity has been reduced to 4000 mAh, giving instead a faster, 40-watt charging. There are always two memory versions to choose from, 8+128 and 8+256 GB. The prices are respectively 1499 and 1699 yuan, or 220-250 USD.
