Last year, Oppo unveiled an affordable 5G phone called the Oppo A58. Now the company has introduced a 4G version in which it changes the processor and replaces the screen with a larger, better panel.

The new Oppo A58 4G has arrived in Indonesia and is now available for IDR 2,500,000 ($165/€150). The phone is available in Dazzling Green and Glowing Black colors, and the overall design remains the same, although you can see that the 8-megapixel selfie camera (80° f/2.0 lens) ) is now in the screen cutout instead of the indentation.

Now the screen has a Full HD+ panel with a diagonal of 6.72 inches and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. This is an improvement over the previous 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen. Although the screen refresh rate has dropped from 90 Hz to 60 Hz, the panel still offers a 180 Hz touch sampling rate. The DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamut is 100%, and the typical screen brightness is 550 nits and the maximum brightness is 680 nits, which makes the screen not only much sharper (391 ppi vs. 269 ppi), but also slightly brighter .

As for the chipset, the change is less exciting - the Dimensity 700 model has been replaced by the Helio G85 model. Along with it is combined 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Like the 5G version, this version also records video at 1080p and 30fps, both with the 8 Mpx selfie camera and the 50 Mpx main camera, 75.5° lens and f/1.8. The second circle is a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Even though the phone has gotten taller and slightly wider, it retains the same 8mm thickness and only weighs 4g more, or 192g. Bigger dimensions don't equate to a bigger battery, so the phone has an identical 5,000mAh battery backed by 33W SuperVOOC charging (up to 50% in 30 minutes).

Other features that haven't changed include a microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers. The fingerprint reader is also located on the side of the phone. The housing has a splash resistance of IPX4. Overall, the differences between the two versions of the A58 are comparable to those between the A78 4G and A78 5G models.
