Apple presents new smartphones and smartwatches!

iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus - Pro advantages as standard

The basic models of Apple smartphones bring a lot of new features, largely known from the Pro version of the previous generation. On the front we have a resizing Dynamic Island module, masking the selfie camera and Face ID holes, and additionally showing notifications and widgets. On the back, the main camera already has 48 Mpx, which allows you to take photos in a much higher resolution, improve image quality in low light thanks to the pixel binning function, as well as lossless two-time zoom. By default, the new iPhone takes photos at a resolution of 24 Mpx, offering better photos without excessive file size. There are also software improvements - artificial intelligence will automatically switch to portrait mode depending on the object being photographed, and thanks to two lenses it will be possible to adjust the sharpness of the photo already taken.

This is not the end of the elements previously known from iPhone 14 Pro Max - basic iPhone models now offer a screen brightness of 1600 nits, reaching up to 2000 nits maximum. In both cases, we are again dealing with an OLED display - 6.1-inch in the iPhone 15 model, 6.7-inch in the iPhone 15 Plus. Another advantage inherited from the iPhone 14 Pro is the A16 Bionic processor, which offers, among other things, faster graphics processing and machine learning operations, which improves, for example, more efficient transcription of dictated text.

And can iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus offer something we haven't seen before in iPhone 14 Pro? Yes - the long-awaited USB-C instead of the Lightning port! The new connector will allow for faster data transfer as well as reverse charging of Apple headphones and smartwatches. The scope of satellite emergency communication has also been expanded, now available in 14 countries (although Poland is still not among them), and US residents will additionally receive support via satellite in the event of vehicle problems thanks to cooperation with the American Automobile Association.

New iPhone models will be available in five color variants and three internal memory options. Their prices, as usual, are not low... but compared to the premiere Polish prices from last year, they are slightly more affordable! In the USA, the prices of the new generation were also not raised. Here's how much each variant costs:

iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max - periscope and titanium

This year's Pro models retain the familiar 48 Mpx main camera and dynamic island, but some new features are visible at first glance. The first is a frame made of titanium, lighter and more durable than the stainless steel used so far. Its use is also reflected in the new color palette, much more subtle than before. We can choose from black, white and blue variants, as well as natural titanium gray. Another noteworthy element is the changed housing design, which allows for easier replacement of the rear glass.

Another noticeable change is the replacement of the mute switch with a multi-function button that responds to touch with vibrations and Dynamic Island animation. Press and hold it now to quickly activate the camera shutter, flashlight, accessibility, shortcut menu and more.

A less visible but important element is the six-core A17 Pro, the first processor made in the 3nm process. Its graphics system will provide 20% greater performance when playing games, and videos can be recorded in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

When it comes to photography, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the best model, offering a periscope telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom and an advanced OIS system that reduces image blur with 10,000 microscopic adjustments per second - twice as much as in last year's model. The smaller iPhone 15 Pro has to be satisfied with a more typical telephoto lens with a three-time zoom, but both more expensive models will get an improved wide-angle camera with larger 1.4 µm pixels. The wide-angle camera will also be used for macro photos, and in combination with the main camera it will also allow you to record Spatial Video - three-dimensional movies that can later be viewed in virtual reality using glasses Apple Vision Pro .

Also in the case of iPhone 15 Pro, it was possible not to raise prices, although it certainly won't be cheap. iPhone 15 Pro Max gave up the 128 GB internal memory option, but the price of the cheapest option remained unchanged. The whole thing looks like this:

Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2

Both the classic smartwatch and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, presented last year for sports applications, have new versions. Both watches boast a new S9 processor, much higher screen brightness (2,000 nits in Apple Watch Series 9, 3,000 nits in Apple Watch Ultra 2) and a multifunctional gesture known from the Apple Vision Pro goggles - tapping with the thumb and forefinger will allow you to answer and hang up a call. , snooze the alarm clock, operate the timer or music player, and switch between widgets. At night, the brightness will be reduced to 1 nit, allowing comfortable use in complete darkness.

In addition, Apple has prepared a set of new bands in cooperation with Nike, celebrating the much more nature-friendly production process of new smartwatches. The cheapest Apple Watch Series costs $399, and the Apple Watch Ultra costs $2,799.

Pre-sales of new Apple products will start on September 15, and they will be available in stores on September 22.
