This year's Google Pixel smartphones have not changed their appearance significantly. The styling changes are cosmetic (we will see modifications to the camera frame and new colors of the housings - waterproof in the IP68 class), and - as so far - both models have a lot of common features, but differ in size and cameras. Both smartphones received new Google Tensor G3 processors, as well as main 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 cameras and 10.5-megapixel selfie cameras. However, other cameras are different. Both Pixels have wide-angle cameras, but the Pixel 8 model has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 module, and the Pixel 8 Pro - a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 camera. In addition, Pixel 8 Pro also has a camera with a telephoto lens - 48-megapixel Samsung GM5 - which was missing in the basic variant. The cameras have a number of editing functions based on AI - Magic Editor allows you to modify the background in photos or even move objects captured in them to another place in the frame, and Audio Magic Eraser cleans the sound in videos from unwanted noises. There are also options related to shooting in low light and Best Take - a function that improves the shot based on previously taken photos.

The displays are also different. Google Pixel 8 has a 6.1-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz, while Google Pixel 8 Pro already has a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 3120x1440 pixels, but with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Along with the screen sizes, the battery capacities also differ - in the base there is 4575 mAh (with 27 W + 18 W inductive charging), and in the Pro model - 5050 mAh (30 + 23 W). The memories are also different. Pixel 8 has 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of flash memory, while Pixel 8 Pro - 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB or 1 TB of flash. The price list is as follows:

In pre-order, smartphones are offered in sets: Pixel 8 will be sold with free Pixel Buds Pro headphones, while Pixel Watch 2 will be added to Pixel 8 Pro. Both smartphones are equipped with VPN from Google One in the software and will also receive 7 years of support for system updates and security.

Google Pixel Watch 2

Google Pixel Watch 2 is a watch with a quite classic, oval shape, with a round 1.2-inch display with a resolution of 384 x 384 px. The watch is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen1 processor, supported by 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and controlled by the Wear OS 4 system. The watch is equipped with a pulse oximeter and all the necessary functions for monitoring activity or sleep, and is powered by a 306 mAh battery. The housing is IP68 tight, although there is a note on the housing that it can be submerged to a depth of 50 m. The watch costs $249 or $399 in the version with the LTE module.
