At this year's MWC Motorola presented the RIZR concept slider smartphone. Now it has an equally interesting concept!
This time - as far as we know - the concept smartphone does not have a name yet. It was recently presented during Lenovo Tech World 2023. This device is an interesting approach to the foldable smartphone. The housing does not have a conventional hinge - the entire housing is flexible. Thanks to this, the smartphone can be folded not only in half of its height, but also in 1/3 to turn it into its own stand. This can be useful, for example, during a video conference or simply for taking selfies or watching a movie. Unfortunately, little is known about the smartphone itself. It has a 6.9-inch flexible pOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. When unfolded, it looks like a typical smartphone, it even has a hole for a selfie camera.

The back of the case is finished with fabric - and it is ribbed, which makes it easier to bend the phone. Apparently, internal components such as the motherboard and cooling system are also flexible to some extent to allow the case to flex. It's hard to say how the battery issue was solved - but I suspect it was divided into two parts and hidden in the ends of the housing that we can't bend. Unfortunately, you can't see the camera on the back, so I can't say whether it's there at all. One thing is certain - this is only a concept and a demonstration of the company's capabilities. It is doubtful that it will go into production - after all, we have classic foldables, so I guess no one is waiting for a flexible phone. However, I would not rule out that the solutions tested in this concept will not be used in commercial devices...
