Another manufacturer is abandoning the production of smartphones. This time it is the Chinese brand Meizu, which has not been doing well in this field for a long time.
Meizu has been on the margins of the smartphone market for several years, although it regularly releases single, almost flagship models. It turns out that the recently presented Meizu 21 will be the last smartphone of this brand. However, Meizu does not completely disappear from the market. The company will now - as announced - work on the development of artificial intelligence. The new strategy is called "All in AI", which quite clearly defines the future profile of Meizu's activities. There is also talk of creating devices using artificial intelligence, but it is not specified what category of equipment it is. Meizu is currently owned by the Geely car brand, so the company will probably participate in the development of car on-board electronics, and a new system platform for mobile devices is also planned. Meizu's retreat from the smartphone market seems quite sudden, but apparently the new strategy has been prepared for 2 years, and earlier - in a similar way - the company abandoned the MP3 player segment. Now it is undergoing another revolution - but we will certainly hear about Meizu again.
