Xiaomi today presented its photographic flagship, Xiaomi 14 Ultra in China. This smartphone will arrive in Europe with a slight delay, in March - instead of the Xiaomi 14 Pro model, which will remain exclusive to China.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra will appear in global distribution instead of the Xiaomi 14 Pro - and that's a good thing, because it is a much more attractive design. The smartphone has a 6.73-inch AMOLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 1440p, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 3000 nits with support for HDR10+ and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 memories. Power is provided by a 5300 mAh battery, which can be charged wired with a power of 90 W or 50 W wirelessly. There is also NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, USB-C and dual-SIM connectivity, as well as IP68 dust and water resistance. The housing can have several finishes and offers IP68 dust and water resistance.

The back of the housing is decorated with a large and characteristic camera frame. It houses four 50-megapixel modules. The main one is a 1-inch Sony LYT900 matrix with variable f/1.63 - f/4.0 aperture, 23 mm focal length and HyperOIS stabilization. The Sony IMX858 wide-angle camera, in turn, covers a field of view of 122 degrees, has a focal length of 12 mm, an f/1.8 aperture and a macro function. The first Sony IMX858 module with a telephoto lens has a focal length of 75 mm 93.2x) and an f/1.8 aperture and is dedicated to portraits and semi-macro (from 10 cm), while the second - the same - module has a periscope telephoto lens with a 5x zoom with a focal length of 120 mm and aperture f/2.5. All cameras - except the wide-angle one - have optical image stabilization. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera set allows you to record videos in 8K resolution at 24 frames per second, 4K at 60 FPS, and even in slow motion with a smooth 1920 FPS in 1080p resolution. The front 32-megapixel f/2.0 camera also offers the ability to record videos in 4K.

In China, the smartphone will be offered at the following prices:

  • 12+256GB: 6499 yuan, USD 905, EUR 834
  • 16+512GB: 6999 yuan, USD 975, EUR 899
  • 16GB + 1TB: 7,799 yuan, 1,085 USD, 1,000 EUR
  • Titanium 16GB + 1TB: 8799 yuan, 1225 USD, 1129 EUR
The phone will also be offered with a similar accessory as in the case of its predecessor - a Photography Kit cover with an additional grip and a shutter release. The price of the add-on is 690 yuan, or 95 dollars, 90 euros. Bringing the prices closer to European "standards", the smartphone can cost EUR 1,099, 1,110, 1,230 and 1,389, respectively, and an additional grip - EUR 110. It's good to dream, but these are approximately the prices after adding VAT and rounding up (... not down!) to a more equal amount. It's looking good...
