The company responsible for Nokia smartphones recently promised us "new, exciting collaborations"... now we can hear about the fruit of one of them. HMD Global also announces other plans, including those related to Nokia.
HMD continues its mission to create attractive, repairable and affordable devices. One of them will be a clamshell feature phone, a classic mobile phone created in cooperation with Mattel. We can expect its premiere with the arrival of summer - for now we know that it will offer a digital detox from distracting smartphone functions, while pleasing the eye with its shiny pink color. Although smartphones have dominated the market for good, classic phones are coming back into favor - according to HMD research, in 2023, more than twice as many classic flip phones were sold in Europe than in 2022, and in 2024 this number is expected to increase even more.

Last year, HMD Global gained some fame with the repairable Nokia G22, named one of the 200 best inventions of 2023 by TIME magazine. Smartphone manufacturer Nokia plans to go further in this direction, making the screen replacement process much easier. Ambitious users will have the opportunity not only to repair, but also to innovate - together with the new smartphone, the HMD Fusion platform will be launched, containing tools supporting hardware and software modifications. HMD also promises that we can expect the return of the iconic Nokia device this summer.
