The Honor Play 50 debuted in China, joining the already known Honor Play 50 Plus. It is a budget model, but with an eye-pleasing style.
Honor Play 50 (and its cousin Honor Play 50m ) looks pretty good for a budget guy. It has a fashionable shape with sharp lines, and the camera frame even looks interesting. Additionally, we have nice housing colors to choose from. The low segment of the smartphone is only revealed by quite wide frames around the 6.56-inch screen with HD+ resolution and 90 Hz image refresh rate. The screen has a droplet notch for the 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture is equally unimpressive. Next to it there is an LED diode imitating an additional lens.

The heart of the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, supported by a fairly typical memory set, 6+128 or 8+256 GB. The operating system is Android 14 with the MagicOS 8.0 interface. Power is provided by a 5200 mAh battery, unfortunately charging only with a power of 10 W. The mentioned Honor Play 50m is practically no different from Honora Play 50 - but it is more expensive and comes in different colors, which may indicate that it is intended for other distribution channels. The price list is as follows:
- Honor Play 50 6+128 GB - 1199 yuan, 166 USD, 154 EUR
- Honor Play 50 8+256 GB - 1399 yuan, USD 194, EUR 180
- Honor Play 50m 6+128 GB - 1,499 yuan, USD 208, EUR 193
- Honor Play 50m 8+256 GB - 1899 yuan, USD 264, EUR 244
