Japanese Sharp announced two new smartphones with a rather unusual style. Sharp Aquos R9 is a decent average, while Sharp Aquos wish4is a proposition from the budget segment.
Sharp Aquos R9 is distinguished by an interesting styling of the rear panel, which may not appeal to everyone. However, in combination with the attractive colors of the casing and the display with a narrow frame, the equipment looks quite unique. The mentioned display is a 6.5-inch OLED IGZO matrix, with Full HD+ resolution and an image refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, as well as quite high brightness - up to 1,500 nits. The heart of the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, supported by 12+256 GB memory, and the power supply is provided by a 5000 mAh battery. The smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 1/1.55-size matrix. Next to it there is a wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 122-degree field of view, and in the screen hole on the front there is another 50-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. As befits a smartphone from Japan, the new model offers IP68 tightness and MIL-STD-810H durability class.

Sharp Aquos wish4 is a strictly budget proposition, pleasing with pastel colors, but terrifying with a single camera eye. This camera has a 50 megapixel matrix and f/1.8 aperture. The second camera is located in a droplet notch cut out in a 6.6-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution. The heart of the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, supported by a rather modest memory set: 4+64 GB. This simple phone, however, has something in common with the average phone described earlier - a 5000 mAh battery, IP68 tightness and MIL-STD-810H class durability. Both models run on Android 14 and will hit the market in June. Their prices will be announced only then.
