Huawei presented two new tablets - Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 and Huawei MatePad Air 2024. What makes them stand out?
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 is a definitely more interesting design with a Tandem OLED display with a two-layer structure, ensuring higher durability and brightness up to 2000 nits. The screen has a diagonal of 12.2 inches, a resolution of 1840 x 2800 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The tablet is only 5.5 mm thick and weighs just over 500 g. Despite the name, the cheaper Huawei MatePad Air 2024 is slightly thicker and heavier, and it has an LCD screen with a brightness of a thousand nits, but the diagonal and resolution are identical to those of the Pro. Both tablets also have the same cameras - 13 Mpx with an 8 Mpx wide-angle unit on the back. The front ones are different - Pro has 16 Mpx, and Air - 8 Mpx. Similarly, although both tablets are equipped with the same 10,100 mAh batteries, they differ in charging power - 100 W in Pro and 66 W in Air. Huawei did not specify the types of processors, but Kirin 9010 systems were probably used, supported by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of flash in MatePad Air and up to 16 GB and 1 TB of memory in the Pro model. MatePad Pro 12.2 prices start from 4,300 yuan (USD 605), and MatePad Air 2024 - from 3,000 yuan ($425).
