Last year's budget smartphone Infinix Smart 8 already has its successor, this time less reminiscent of the iPhone. What else will the Infinix Smart 9 stand out with?
The new smartphone's specifications differ in a few details, but most of its parameters remain the same as last year. Its 6.7-inch display has HD+ resolution and offers Always-On Display, despite being an LCD screen. The selfie camera hole once again integrates an Apple-inspired notification bar, in this case advertised as the "Dynamic Bar". Compared to its predecessor, the smartphone stands out with a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, while the photo set remains unchanged - 13 Mpx on the back, 8 Mpx on the front. In addition, the Infinix Smart 9 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery charged at 10 W, IP54 tightness and stereo speakers.

Another special feature is the Mediatek Helio G81 processor, slightly more efficient than the one in its predecessor, the Unisoc T606. Unfortunately, the amount of memory offered has not changed - 3 or 4 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal memory. The manufacturer promises "48 months of smooth operation", but in small print it adds that the warranty only applies to the 4 + 128 GB variant, and this does not mean "absolutely no lag" - in other words, you can expect that even in the best case, smoothness may leave something to be desired. The whole thing runs on the Android 14 Go operating system with the XOS 14 interface.
Infinix Smart 9 is available in Metallic Black, Mint Green, Sandstone Gold and Neo Titanium, as well as two memory variants. The price of the 4+128 GB version is not yet known, but the 3+64 GB variant can be purchased in Malaysia for 299 ringgit, or about $72, 65 euros.
