HMD Global has presented its new, budget smartphone HMD Aura 2. What does the new model offer?
If you were hoping that HMD Aura 2 would stand out from the brand's previous models or dozens of other similar models - you will be disappointed. We are dealing with a typical low-end specification and simple style. The smartphone has a less than 6.52-inch LCD display with a resolution of not full HD+ (576 x 1280 pixels) and - unfortunately - an image refresh rate of 60 Hz. The brightness reaches 460 nits. At the top of the screen there is a droplet notch for a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The main camera is 13-megapixel, and the additional frame imitating the second lens hides an LED diode and an unspecified sensor. Or another imitation lens...

The heart of the smartphone is the Unisoc 9863A processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM, 4 GB of virtual RAM and a very decent 256 GB of internal memory in this class, additionally with the option of expanding it with a microSD card. This is probably the only strong point of this smartphone. The battery is already ordinary, with a capacity of 5000 mAh with 10-watt charging. The system is Android 14 Go with the promise of two years of support for security patches. The smartphone offers protection against dust and moisture at the IP54 level, and additional equipment includes, among others, a side fingerprint reader, FM radio or minijack. We do not know the price yet, but it does not seem to be high.
