The Huawei Nova 14 smartphone series debuted in China today. We got to know the Huawei Nova 14, Huawei Nova 14 Pro and Huawei Nova 14 Ultra models.

The star of the launch is of course Huawei Nova 14 Ultra. This smartphone received a curved, 6.81-inch OLED LTPO 3.0 screen with Full HD+ resolution, image refresh in the range of 1-120 Hz, brightness up to 5500 nits and Kunlun glass. The screen has a fairly wide cutout for two selfie cameras: the main 50-megapixel and an 8-megapixel portrait with 2x zoom. On the back, there is a basic camera with a 50-megapixel matrix, optical image stabilization and a variable aperture of f/1.4-4.0. Another 50-megapixel rear camera has a 3.7x telephoto lens, and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera completes the set. The manufacturer did not specify the processor type, but it is known that the smartphone is powered by a 5500 mAh battery with 100-watt charging, and the housing offers IP68/69 dust and liquid protection.

The Huawei Nova 14 i Huawei Nova 14 Pro models offer slightly less, but both have 6.7-inch OLED screens with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh. The Pro model also features LTPO technology, and Kunlun glass is an option. The Huawei Nova 14 Pro has similar front cameras to the Ultra, while the Huawei Nova 14 only has a single 50 Mpx selfie camera. The main camera in Huawei Nova 14 Pro is also the same as in Ultra, but the others have weaker matrices - 12 Mpx in telephoto and 8 Mpx in wide-angle. Similar cameras can also be found in Huawei Nova 14 - but the main one has a fixed f/1.9 aperture and no OIS. Both models have the same batteries as Ultra, i.e. 5500 mAh with 100-watt charging - but a lower degree of protection against liquids and dust - IP65.

All new smartphones run the HarmonyOS 5.0 operating system, and the price list, as usual for Chinese brands, is quite extensive:

  • Huawei Nova 14 256 GB - 2699 yuan, 375 USD
  • Huawei Nova 14 512 GB - 2999 yuan, 420 USD
