HMD Global has unveiled a new smartphone, the HMD Fusion X1, aimed at parents who want to take special care of their children's digital well-being.
The HMD Fusion X1 is technically nothing special, but it is unique in its own way. This is a smartphone designed for children and young people, but also for their parents who want to protect their children from the harmful effects of digital addiction. This smartphone does not have any pre-installed browsers or social networking sites. It is the parent who decides what will be on the smartphone, and then has control over the time the child uses the Internet. In addition, the parent has access to the location of the child's smartphone and can also create a list of contacts allowed to communicate with the child. The smartphone is being created in cooperation with the British company Xplora, which specializes in this type of solution. The phone is offered with "Smart Outfits" accessories - covers equipped with additional lighting or accessories for gamers.

As part of the "Better Phone Project" program, the new model is also easy to repair, just like the already known HMD Fusion, on which it is technically based. So we have a 6.56-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. The smartphone also has a 5000 mAh battery with 33-watt charging, Android 15 and a mini jack. The user can use a 50-megapixel selfie camera, as well as a 108-megapixel main camera. The phone also has a side fingerprint reader, 5G and IP54 tightness. It is available in several European countries with 6+128 GB of storage for £229 plus £4.99 per month for a subscription to the Xplora parenting app.
