Vivo X Fold5 - the first foldable in the Apple ecosystem!

Vivo X Fold5 was presented in China today. It is one of the lightest and slimmest smartphones we will see this year. And it also hides a surprise!

The surprise is the ability to work with Apple Watches - that's why I perversely called this smartphone the first foldable in the Apple ecosystem. Actually... that's just how it is. Vivo claims that it is the first Android smartphone to offer such a possibility. Unfortunately, to connect the Apple Watch to Vivo, you first have to pair the watch with the iPhone... But then you will be able to enjoy, among other things, handling phone calls, text messages, reading notifications or synchronizing health and fitness data. In addition, this option will appear a bit later, in a system update - but it will be there. The smartphone also works with AirPods, and can also connect to Macs (Vivo Office Kit app) and iPhones - for file transfer, calls, or screen sharing. Apart from this interesting fact, the new Vivo foldable is slim (9.2 mm) and light (217 g), but also solid. The casing is dustproof in the IP5X class and waterproof in the IPX8 and IPX9 classes.

Although slim and light, the Vivo X Fold5 has a battery with a large capacity for a foldable 6000 mAh, with 80-watt wired charging and 40-watt induction. The main, foldable OLED LTPO screen has a diagonal of 8.03 inches and a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels, while the external display is also OLED with LTPO, but 6.53-inch, with a resolution of 2748 × 1172 pixels. Both screens refresh the image at a frequency of up to 120 Hz. The heart of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1 memory

In the photographic part of the Vivo X Fold5 we will find two 20-megapixel selfie cameras in the hole of each of the screens, as well as three 50-megapixel rear cameras. The main Sony IMX921 has an aperture of f/1.57, the wide-angle f/2.05, and the telephoto 3x (IMX882 with macro option) - f/2.55. The main and telephoto cameras have optical stabilization. The smartphone works in the Origin OS 15 system based on Android 15. The equipment is complemented by stereo speakers, a side fingerprint reader and an infrared transmitter. In China, the following memory variants are available:
