Xiaomi today unveiled new smartphones from its semi-flagship series, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. They share much in common, but also differ in many ways. What do they offer and how much do they cost?
Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro are quite similar, sharing many specifications – but at the same time, they have a lot in common. Both models share similar styling, with a square camera island with a metallic frame. The smartphones are easily distinguished by the location of the LED flash: the basic model has it within the camera island, while the Pro has it next to it. Furthermore, the Pro has a metal support frame, while the basic model has a plastic one. Both are available in gray and black, as well as two shades of gold – the basic model in rose gold, the Pro in coffee gold. Both models are IP68-rated and have quite similar displays, surrounded by a 1.5-millimeter bezel. These are 6.83-inch AMOLED displays with a resolution of 2772x1280 pixels and brightness up to 3000 nits, with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certifications and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. However, the smartphones differ in their refresh rates – the basic model has up to 120 Hz, while the Pro model has up to 144 Hz. Both screens sample touch at 480 Hz, but the basic model has 3840 Hz PWM dimming, while the Pro model has DC dimming. The same applies to the batteries. Both have 5500 mAh batteries, but the basic model charges at 67 W, while the Pro model charges at 90 W. Additionally, the Pro variant also features 50-watt induction. The smartphones are also equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Both models feature 5G and NFC connectivity, Bluetooth 6.0, and eSIM support. The base model has Wi-Fi 6E, while the Pro has Wi-Fi 7.

Both smartphones have 32-megapixel selfie cameras with an f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree field of view – but the rear cameras are completely different. While both models have 12-megapixel wide-angle cameras (with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view), the other two modules are different. The Xiaomi 15T has a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/1.9 aperture and 2x zoom. The Xiaomi 15T Pro, on the other hand, features a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor with optical stabilization and an f/1.62 aperture as the main camera, while the telephoto camera features a 50-megapixel Samsung Isocell JN1 sensor with optical stabilization, an f/3.0 aperture, and 5x zoom. Translating the lenses' capabilities into 35mm equivalent focal lengths, the Xiaomi 15T supports a 15-92mm range, while the Xiaomi 15T Pro supports a 15-230mm range. Both models can record 4K video, including HDR10+ at 30 fps, while the Pro model also offers 4K slow-motion at 120 fps. The smartphones also differ in their processors: the Xiaomi 15T has a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra, while the Xiaomi 15T Pro has a Dimensity 9400+. Both models also feature 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Pro model is also available with 1 TB of storage. Xiaomi's Offline Communication solution also debuts in the new models. This allows you to maintain voice communication without access to a cellular network or Wi-Fi – at a range of 1.3 km in the base model and 1.9 km in the Pro. Of course, this only works between models in the Xiaomi 15T family after logging in with a Xiaomi account. The feature will be available after launch, via a system update. The smartphones will soon receive Xiaomi HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. Both will also receive 6 years of security patch support. The Xiaomi 15T will receive four system updates, while the Xiaomi 15T Pro will receive five.
