A new budget smartphone, the Oppo A6x, debuted in Malaysia. It doesn't offer impressive specifications, but it does have a large battery.
Oppo A6x is a simple, budget-friendly design, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, supported by LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 memory, and running the Android 15 operating system with the ColorOS 15 overlay. The smartphone doesn't support 5G, but it does have virtual RAM and AI features: AI GameBoost 2.0 for improved performance, AI LinkBoost 3.0 for enhanced connectivity, and AI Portrait Retouching, AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, and AI Eraser 2.0 for photography. Unfortunately, the display is made of LCD technology and only operates in HD+ resolution, but it has a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The cameras are as modest as the rest of the specs: a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an additional depth sensor for portraits. The 6500 mAh battery, however, is completely immodest, though it doesn't have fast charging, but it does have a power bank option, i.e., reverse charging. It's also worth noting the IP64 waterproof rating – perhaps not the highest, but still quite good in the budget segment. There are two body colours to choose from, as well as 4GB, 128GB, and 4GB, 256GB of storage – although the price of the less powerful version, the equivalent of $97, is currently known.
