It's really happening – the brand, which has only two budget phones to its name, will be unveiling its own foldable smartphone in the coming months. What can we expect?
Official teasers reveal few details so far, but they do offer a glimpse of the Nova Flip's design, with two external cameras and a vertical, rectangular screen. It looks similar to the Nubia Flip 2, one of the most affordable foldable smartphones. It's also officially known that the Ai+ Nova Flip will launch in the first quarter of 2026.
There's a bit more information available from unofficial sources. According to The Hindu, the Ai+ Nova Flip will be priced under 40,000 rupees, or around $450, €380, or PLN 1,600, which would make it a particularly affordable foldable smartphone. The Ai+ brand also has further plans for the Nova series – the current budget model AI+ Nova 5G and the upcoming compact Ai+ NovaFlip are expected to be joined by the Ai+ Nova Pro and Ai+ Nova Ultra. There's even talk of a potential Ai+ Nova Fold – it's hard to find lower-priced devices among large-format foldables, so this type of Fold would be a very interesting development.
The creator of the AmiT Technology YouTube channel also shared his predictions about the upcoming foldable. The Ai+ NovaFlip may feature two AMOLED displays – the internal one with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and the external one with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. Silver and gray color options will be available, as well as two memory options: 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. As with previous Ai+ smartphones, its interface will be NxtQuantum OS based on Android 15, focused on user privacy and storing user data on local Indian servers. The system is designed to intelligently adapt to use in both folded and unfolded modes, offering quick access to key information on the external display.
Many key parameters of the Ai+ NovaFlip remain unknown, including its processor, battery capacity and charging power, and photography capabilities. Regardless, the Ai+ NovaFlip's competitive price will undoubtedly help it stand out.
