iQOO 15 Ultra: Gaming monster with Snapdragon 8 and record-breaking AnTuTu!

iQOO 15 Ultra could be impressive. It's a shame it won't be coming to us!

The Vivo-owned iQOO brand today unveiled its flagship smartphone in China. The iQOO 15 Ultra boasts impressive specifications, but unfortunately, it will only be available in its home market for now.

iQOO 15 Ultra is a smartphone with gaming connotations. It has a "techy" style and comes in two color options (2077 Flowing Orange and 2049 Ice Blue), as well as LED backlighting and additional triggers on the side of the case, sampled at 600 Hz. The case is IP68 and IP69 rated.

The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, supported by LPDDR5X Ultra Pro + UFS 4.1 memory, the proprietary iQOO Q3 coprocessor that improves gaming performance, and cooled by an 8000 mm² Ice Dome vapor chamber and a high-speed fan measuring 17x17x4 mm, hidden next to the camera bezel, on the edge of which there are warm air outlets. Thanks to this combination, iQOO 15 Ultra reaches 4.5 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. Power is provided by a 7400 mAh battery with 100-watt charging, as well as 40-watt induction and battery bypass power supply. The operating system is Android 16 with OriginOS 6.

iQOO 15 Ultra features a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 8000 nits. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader is hidden beneath the display, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2) is integrated at the top of the screen. There are also stereo speakers, and on the back are three 50-megapixel cameras: the main (f/1.88), the wide-angle (f/2.05), and a periscope telephoto lens with a 3x zoom and an f/2.65 aperture. Of course, the main and telephoto cameras are equipped with optical image stabilization. The manufacturer boasts that they use image processing algorithms used in Vivo's top-of-the-line smartphones, including the NICE 3.0 and Magic 2.0 optical reconstruction engines.

As is typical with Chinese launches, quite a few storage variants have been prepared:

24 GB + 1 TB - 7699 yuan, $1110

Unfortunately, although the smartphone has a lot to be proud of and is a great showcase for the brand, there's no word yet on its sales outside of China. And it definitely won't be coming to us.
