Lava, a popular brand in India, has unveiled another budget smartphone. Unfortunately, the only selling point of the Lava Yuva Star 3 seems to be its low price.
Lava Yuva Star 3 costs 7,500 rupees, which is approximately $85. This clearly shows that we can't expect any advanced features here, only the bare essentials. The smartphone has a basic 6.75-inch LCD screen with only HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The screen features a notch for a 5-megapixel selfie camera, while the rear houses a 13-megapixel camera, along with an LED flash and an unspecified secondary sensor – though this could also be a dummy. The smartphone's heart is the Unisoc SC9863A processor, supported by 4GB of RAM, 4GB of virtual RAM, and a paltry 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a 256GB microSD card. The smartphone is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging. On the plus side, it features a fingerprint reader, FIM radio, and a minijack, as well as a high IP64 rating for this class of device. The 164.96 x 76.1 x 8.5 mm case is available in two colours – Indus Black and Siachen White – and the smartphone weighs 193.7 g. Nothing about this model is particularly impressive, except for its price – but apparently, there's still a significant demand for this type of design in India.
