The affordable Vivo Y05 smartphone has just hit a new market, with a slightly different design and a significantly larger battery than Vivo Y04 4G.

Vivo Y05 4G recently premiered in Malaysia, and now has also appeared on the official website of Vivo's Arabic branch, in a slightly different version – the dark blue variant is now accompanied by a patterned platinum colour variant instead of the previous sky blue.

Vivo Y05 is a very modest device – 8 MP on the back and 5 MP in the notch on the front – a camera setup rarely found even among budget smartphones. Its processor is the Unisoc T7225, and it comes with 4 GB of RAM and either 64 or 128 GB of internal storage, depending on the variant. Its 6.74-inch IPS LCD display has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, but its smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1200 nits are quite impressive. The Vivo Y05 also boasts the latest Android 16 operating system with OriginOS 6, which is also common among budget-friendly devices. On the other hand, the small amount of RAM may hinder its smooth operation...

The Vivo Y05's strong point is its 6500 mAh battery, although its charging capability at a maximum of 15W isn't impressive. The Vivo Y05 also offers IP65 dust and water resistance, a metal frame, a side-mounted fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, and an RGB notification LED on the back. The dimensions of the Vivo Y05 are 167.4 x 77.1 x 8.4 mm and the weight is 209 g. The Vivo Y05 is available for $109, which is approximately €92.
