Lava Virat V1 debuts in two versions. Will one of them come to Europe?

The Indian company Lava has introduced two new smartphones to the local market under the common name – the Lava Virat V1. As you can probably guess, we're dealing with an LTE and 5G variant.

For now, both models are dedicated to the Indian market, for distribution through the local Flipkart store. However, considering the recent news about Lava's entry into the British market, we can tentatively suspect that the Lava Virat V1 5G might be one of the debut models in Europe. But for now, let's take a look at what you can buy in India...

Lava Virat V1

Lava Virat V1 is the cheaper model and, as the name suggests, works best on LTE networks. It has a Unisoc SC9863A processor and a remarkably meager 4GB+64GB memory setup. As a consolation, the internal memory can be expanded by 256GB with a microSD card. As you can probably guess from the meager memory, the smartphone runs the Android 15 Go operating system. The system appears on a 6.75-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, with a notch at the top for a mere 5-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera is 13-megapixel, and all of this is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging. The phone also has a minijack, IP64 waterproofing, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Two colours are available – Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver. The phone is a bit underwhelming, but at least it's cheap – 10,000 rupees, or $105.

Lava Virat V1 5G

Lava Virat V1 5G is also cheap and only slightly better than the LTE model. It has the same cameras, but a larger battery – 6000 mAh – although still with 10-watt charging. The display is also similar, but the refresh rate has been increased to 120 Hz. Naturally, the processor must also be different – and the 5G model features a Unisoc T8200 chip, although unfortunately still with a paltry 4+64 GB of memory. As a consolation, you can even add a terabyte microSD card, and the operating system is the full and newest version – Android 16 in its raw form. The rest of the features are similar to the LTE version, but the casing colours are different: Arya Blue and Sonar Gold. This model is also, of course, more expensive – 13,000 rupees, or $135.
