The "ethical" smartphone Fairphone 6 has been updated after just over a year. And now we have the Fairphone 6+, which offers a few but significant upgrades.

In fact, the Fairphone 6+ differs from the previous Fairphone 6 in only a few details – but the changes are quite significant. First and foremost, it uses a newer-generation processor, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, instead of the Gen 3 model. Furthermore, RAM has been increased from 8 to 12 GB. Finally, a new housing color has been introduced. As you can see, the name is perfectly justified – the new model is simply its predecessor with certain advantages. Most importantly, the main feature of previous Fairphone editions has been retained: full repairability. Users can replace over ten key smartphone components themselves – from the battery and display to cameras and the USB-C port. As you can see, these are the most common components that fail in any smartphone – so the Fairphone 6+ could prove to be a device that will last for years. Especially since spare parts are expected to be available for the next five years.

Furthermore, the manufacturer offers a 5-year warranty and 7 years of software support, which starts with Android 16. Aside from the previously mentioned features, the new model is practically identical to its predecessor. It has a 6.31-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2484x1116 pixels, a 10-120 Hz refresh rate, up to 1400 nits of brightness, and 1440 Hz PWM dimming. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i with an oleophobic coating. The upgraded processor is supported by LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory with the option of using a microSD card, and is powered by an easily removable 4415 mAh battery with 30-watt charging. The Fairphone 6+ has a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0) and a main 50-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and an f/1.88 aperture. Next to it is a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and the main camera's 2x zoom compensates for the lack of a telephoto lens. Video recording is possible in 4K at 30 fps, and features include stereo speakers, NFC, and eSIM support. Available in three colors, the housing is MIL-STD-810H-rated and IP55-rated. The smartphone costs €685.
