A new budget smartphone with a rather unconventional name has just made its official debut – the Lava Bold N4 Lite is the successor to the Lava Bold N2 Lite, unveiled less than five months ago. Its specifications and price may also surprise you.
The Lava Bold N4 Lite's elegant appearance, reminiscent of the iPhone or Huawei Pura, conceals budget-friendly specs – its Unisoc 9863A processor is paired with 3 GB of RAM, expandable by 3 GB of virtual RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, to which you can add up to 64 GB via microSD card, and the Android 16 Go operating system. Its display is a 6.56-inch LCD, the battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh, and it has an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for photos.
On the plus side, it's drop-resistant with a MIL-STD-810H certificate, a 3.5 mm minijack, dual SIM, an FM radio, and a low price – starting September 3rd, the Lava Bold N4 Lite will be available for a launch price of 7,999 rupees (approximately $84, €72), in Empire Gold or dark gray Ghost Silver.
The low price of the Lava Bold N4 Lite could compensate for its weaknesses, if not for one detail – the previous Lava Bold N2 Lite cost 6,999 rupees ($74, €63) on launch day, offering no worse specifications. On the contrary, the Lava Bold N2 Lite has a better 13MP main camera and a slightly more modest 64GB of storage space, and its only weakness compared to its successor is the Android 15 Go operating system. Maybe the next generation will bring something better for a change...
