Honor's flagship smartphone series was unveiled in China today. Take a look at what the Honor Magic9, Honor Magic9 Pro Max, and Honor Magic9 Super Edition models have to offer.
Honor Magic9
The entry-level model in the series, the Honor Magic9, is the smallest in the family. It features a flat, 6.37-inch LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a typical brightness of 1,000 nits. At the heart of the smartphone lies the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, powered by an 8,000 mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The model is equipped with a 55-megapixel square-format selfie camera (f/2.0), allowing for both portrait and landscape shots without changing the phone's orientation. On the back, there is a 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/1.9 aperture, alongside another 200-megapixel camera—this time a telephoto lens (f/2.6) with 3.5x zoom and a 1/1.56-inch sensor. Both cameras feature optical image stabilization. The camera setup is rounded out by a 50-megapixel wide-angle unit (f/2.0), while the feature list also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and dedicated buttons for photography and AI functions. The smartphone boasts IP68, IP69, and IP69K ingress protection ratings.

Honor Magic9 Pro Max
The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is the larger and more impressive model. It features a similar flat LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but it is significantly larger at 6.8 inches. This model is powered by Qualcomm's latest processor—the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme—and houses an even larger 8800 mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. It retains the 55-megapixel square selfie sensor, but the rear 200-megapixel camera has been upgraded with a larger 1/1.28-inch sensor and a faster f/1.57 aperture. Similarly, the 200-megapixel camera with a 3.5x telephoto lens also features a larger sensor (1/1.4-inch) and CIPA 8.0-grade stabilization, though the wide-angle camera remains unchanged. The additional equipment features and ingress protection ratings remain unchanged, though a 3D facial recognition system has been added. Furthermore, a photography kit featuring a 500mm teleconverter lens and a grip is available for this model.

Honor Magic9 Super Edition
The Honor Magic9 Super Edition differs significantly from the other two models. It features an active cooling system with a built-in fan and boasts the largest battery in the lineup—11,000 mAh—though it charges at the same speeds as the base model. The Magic SE shares the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and the 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.55", f/1.9) with the base model. The front-facing and 3x telephoto cameras are 50-megapixel units (f/2.0 and f/2.4), while the wide-angle camera is 12 megapixels (f/2.2). In terms of size, this model sits between the previously described ones, featuring a 6.81-inch screen—though it retains the 1.5K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, this model uses a standard optical fingerprint scanner, albeit still located under the display. Interestingly, despite having the largest battery, it is the slimmest of the trio, measuring 8.1 mm.
