When looking at it, one might conclude that it is a premium device, until the screen is turned on. For a tablet at this price to only have a TFT screen is something that truly only Apple could attempt. I know, I know, that Samsung, the manufacturer of AMOLEDs, also occasionally uses TFT screens in some of its tablets, but there is always an alternative with an AMOLED type like PRO, PLUS, ULTRA, or whatever it is called. In the iPad mini, there is no alternative. This is quite glaring because I use it for reading books on a black background, and it is well known that the greatest shortcoming of these displays is the inability to reproduce the depth of the black color. Apart from this incomprehensible defect to me, the device is excellent. Lightweight, loud, smooth in operation.
