Technical specifications

Overall, the phone is very good compared to Samsung devices with 4 GB of RAM. This phone is good, the system is simple, and there are no performance delays. I give it 8/10. I subtract one point because the price is a bit too high and a second point for the old AMOLED screen, but overall, it significantly outperforms Samsung. The rest should be satisfied that they have 4 GB of RAM for 2k for a phone. 4 GB of RAM was standard about 5 years ago.

For a rugged phone, it performs quite poorly because, although it is water resistant, after trying to record videos underwater, the first software issue appeared. The underwater camera function has recording activation assigned to the lock button, which closes the application. Additionally, after this attempt, both the call speaker and the multimedia speaker crackle; despite drying or installing an app to shake out water, the speakers produce a very distorted and unpleasant sound. Another issue is its supposed resistance to mechanical damage; the phone gets scratched even from being put in a pocket, not to mention those pseudo tempered extra glass protectors. Then, the fingerprint reader worked for perhaps 1.5 weeks and suddenly stopped responding. The camera has poor image stabilization and an extremely long reaction time when trying to take photos, the quality of which is not impressive. The battery is also slowly starting to last less and less time, but that is the smallest problem. I have had it for eight months and am waiting another two for more defects so as not to visit the service center frequently... On the positive side, the screen is good, the media speaker was loud with a strong sound before being submerged, and the inductive charging is okay. The phone is actually fast, not counting the camera ;) As for dust resistance, I have not tried it because if regular water damaged the speakers, dust would simply destroy them. Overall, the Doogee V20 looks good in the media, but not so much in reality. I do not recommend it.

The phone has been in use since 2021, over 3 years without freezes, failures, or problems. It was submerged during every vacation (underwater videos) in Greece, Turkey, and Croatia; it never leaked. I charge it exclusively by induction. I have experience with such phones and advise against using the USB ports; after some time they wear out and may let water in. This is my fifth Rugged type phone, previously Armor 8, Evolveo, Unihertz, AGM Glory; of the aforementioned, this is probably the best quality. The battery is the weakest point at 6000 mAh; it currently lasts two days easily, whereas it lasted four days when new. I have about 20 applications on it, and each one works perfectly. It fell into engine oil twice and once into frying oil; after such incidents, I wash it in the sink with dish soap. It has been washed in the dishwasher several times and still works without failure. There are no problems. It has the original tempered glass. I cannot count the number of falls onto concrete, but definitely over 50. For me, it is excellent. When it reaches a full 4 years of use, I will change it to the Ulefone Armor 27 T PRO, or possibly the 28 Ultra if available, or the Unihertz Tank 2 or 3, but I will likely focus on those with induction charging so as never to open it............

Advantages
1. It still works even though I have been using it for about a year and I frequently damage phones.
2. Very sensitive fingerprint reader, it responded to mine, which is rare.

Disadvantages
1. Screen - my eyes hurt from it, it is unpleasant to look at, and from the start, if I look closely, I can see some fine vertical lines from top to bottom.
2. Camera - reaction time is fine, it focuses correctly, resolutions are great, slow motion and infrared are nice gadgets, but the colors are a failure - they lack saturation, the photos are pale and gray, and in artificial lighting, it is sometimes a waste of energy to take photos.

I do not want to focus on other matters anymore; the speakers, as always after repeated flooding, are starting to malfunction here as well, the flashlight could be brighter, and one could write much more.

Overall, it is not a phone that has caused me a lot of frustration, but it is also not the best phone I have had (at least considering the price).

There is a good chance I will replace it in a year or two, and not even because of wear.

It was supposed to be rugged and waterproof. Neither is true. After a short time, the fingerprint reader fails. It disappears from the settings and that is it. The manufacturer refers you to the store, where as part of a warranty claim they return it restored to factory settings and then it works again-until a certain point, unfortunately. I do not want to go to the service center all the time to set everything up from the beginning. After a short time in shallow fresh water, it took in so much water that it completely stopped working. Service center again. After that, the battery started lasting half as long. The rear screen can be configured to the maximum extent - it still displays whatever it wants anyway. Call quality is like an old manual telephone. It takes average/poor photos. After a fall from one meter, the screen shattered so much that it does not work, despite the protective film. I would not buy it a second time.

the phone for a rugged device is very well made, one of the few with an amoled display, the battery lasts well, the camera is even okay except for the 4:3 aspect ratio why is there no 16:9 ? And there is a lack of any recording stabilization. Unfortunately, the earpiece speaker failed immediately even though the phone did not even have contact with water( it crackles but intermittently I noticed that it starts crackling when the phone is pressed, another fault is the fingerprint reader simply stops working, but after a phone reset it works for a while and again there is information that the reader is unavailable- maybe it is the fault of the software, and this last issue android 11 is quite outdated absolutely without updates from the manufacturer, whereas for example v20 pro has 12.

The Doogee V20 is the most unreliable of all my phones. It kept freezing, the fingerprint reader stopped working after less than a month, the factory charger broke after two months, and after less than a year of use, the phone fell from a height of less than half a meter and both displays stopped working (it was supposed to be resistant). I should have filed a complaint immediately at the first signs of failure, but it is impossible to reach the service center by phone and they do not respond to emails, so it would not have mattered anyway. I do not just not recommend it; I am warning you against it!

Very nice phone, good camera, very clear and colorful screen. Unfortunately, from the beginning, the rear screen operates unpredictably; it does not respond to double-tapping unless it has just been reset. After submitting a warranty claim due to the aforementioned problem and a crackling speaker, the issue with the rear screen remained. A month after the service, the fingerprint reader failed. It is due for another service. It is a pity that such situations occur because it is an excellent phone. If they refunded my money, I would probably try the same model again.

I do not recommend Doogee phones because the company completely neglects the customer after the purchase. The phone has issues with the fingerprint reader, and I have read about this on many forums. It is a problem because one cannot count on updates as they do not exist. Service? But where? I bought it once because I needed a robust casing, a good display, and so on. Apart from the camera, which takes very poor quality photos, the rest performs quite well. As for me, I will not buy a phone from this company again.
