I have handled dozens of rugged smartphones and I must objectively admit that Doogee V Max is the best equipment in this category. Very fast, it does not close background applications, and the photos are unrivaled for the rugged smartphone segment. Stereo speakers and the BATTERY. Two weeks on a single charge, something incredible. Disadvantages? Of course, some can be found – charging is "only" 33W, the call speaker could be louder (there might be a problem with conversations in a noisy hall), and the weight is over half a kilo. But if we overlook these three imperfections, we get the best rugged phone on the market.

A solid and well-made smartphone. I think it is the best model from this manufacturer so far, and I have already used the S95-Pro , S59-Pro , S88-Plus , S89-Pro , S96-GT. I purchased the phone at the beginning of February this year. In practice, the battery lasts according to its capacity specification; therefore, with normal use (meaning: a bit of everything every day), it consumes a maximum of about 9-10% of the energy reserve. During standby, the power retention time is significantly extended. Someone wrote somewhere that photos are tinted with a beer color. This statement is not true because in daylight or strong artificial light, photos have very realistic color reproduction. Only in low light and without a flash can such a beer-like effect appear. Despite its weight of 540 grams, the phone sits very securely in the hand and I can (with my thumb span relative to other fingers) use the one-handed mode. I am not sure if, due to its own weight, a fall of this device would be only an insignificant event in its operation; however, it handles moisture and water itself well. The screen is very clear: colors and contrasts do not differ from AMOLED ones. The system works smoothly without any stutters. I expanded the 12 GB of RAM to 20 GB and it is very good. Splitting the screen for concurrent applications is simple and fast. The 4 speakers are very loud, so hands-free calls are very comfortable even in noise. However, the earpiece speaker is average, which is somewhat surprising. The programmability of the side button is a pleasant surprise, and the biometric reader works smoothly and without problems. Similarly, NFC purchases are no problem. I rate the phone 8/10 due to the earpiece and the weak charger included in the set. Besides that, it is a heavyweight multi-functional device. The charger in the set is 33W, so it charges from 0 to 100% in 4.5 hours. I purchased a 65W charger and the charging time was shortened by slightly more than 2 hours. The phone was purchased primarily because of its dimensions - I like massive phones. The speed and stability of the system are very good. The tray for two SIM cards or a SIM plus a memory card is annoying - in this model, due to the lack of eSIM support, I miss having support for 2 SIMs plus a memory card. The power of the external speakers is very unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, for a rugged phone designed for work, hearing an incoming ringtone is nearly impossible, to the point that I am forced to wear a Bluetooth headset. Similarly, the camera in this case is very disappointing; the photos have such a yellow-brown tint as if the phone were immersed in a mug full of beer while taking them. In this respect, it is the worst camera I have ever had in a phone. The only advantage is the night vision. A major advantage is the battery capacity, but considering the low charging power and the fact that I listen to music while sleeping, I only manage to partially charge the phone instead of fully charging it overnight. It is a barely deserved four.

I have been using this phone for over a year and a half and I am very satisfied. The solid casing and substantial battery deserve recognition. The camera could be better, as well as the main speaker and the call speaker, but otherwise it meets my requirements. Bart bought the same model; it fell out while he was riding a motorcycle and only the back of the casing was slightly scuffed, otherwise the phone was not damaged. I stopped counting the various types of falls my unit has survived a long time ago, and the marks are minimal. The weight makes you aware of what you are holding in your hands; furthermore, in current times, it is perfectly suitable for self-defense. I once accidentally dropped it on a friend's foot; he complained of pain for three days. In summary, if someone needs a solid and durable, heavy device that eliminates the need for frequent charging, I recommend it sincerely.

I have this Doogee V Max phone and I know that the display has no drop resistance, because it fell out of my pocket onto the floor from a squatting position, which could have been 30 cm. and the display cracked.

So, is it enough to buy a charger with a higher power rating than what the manufacturer provides, and will it be possible to charge such a phone faster?

The battery is excellent, it lasts for three days of intensive use, the camera is terrible.
